RESOLUTION AT THE 16TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN ROME

"The International Una Voce Federation is committed to upholding the Traditional Mass as set out in the Typical Edition of 1962"

We, the delegates present at the 16th General Assembly of the International Una Voce Federation re-affirm the priciple set out in the resolution passed unanimously at our 14th General Assembly in Rome on 13th/14th November 1999 that our Federation is committed totally and inequivocally to upholding the Traditional Mass of the Roman Rite as set out in the Typical Edition of 1962, and granted by the motu proprio Ecclesia Dei of 2nd July 1988, without any of the changes found in the Roman Missal of 1965 and subsequent legislation. In adhering to the typical edition of 1962 we are asking for no more that respect for our rightful aspirations as required by His Holiness Pope John Paul II in his motu proprio: "To all those Catholic faithful who feel attached to some previous liturgical and disciplinary forms of the Latin tradition, I wish to manifest my will to facilitate their ecclesial communion by means of the necessary measures to guarantee respect for their rightful aspirations. In this matter I ask for the support of the bishops and of all those engaged in the pastoral ministry in the Church. ... moreover, respect must everywhere be shown for the feelings of all those who are attached to the Latin liturgical tradition, by a wide and generous application of the directives already issued some time ago by the Apostolic See, for the use of the Roman Missal according to the typical edition of 1962."
